A ceramic coating starts long before the coating ever touches the paint.

One of the most overlooked steps in the process is removing embedded iron contamination. These tiny particles come from things like brake dust and industrial fallout, and they can become lodged in your paint even if the vehicle looks perfectly clean.

In this video, I explain what iron remover does, why it’s an important part of the prep process, and how taking the time to properly decontaminate the paint helps create the best possible foundation for a ceramic coating.

A little behind the scenes of how I fix paint that’s been through a car wash a lot.

If you’ve ever heard the term “two step correction” and didn’t understand what that means, this will show you!

Swirl marks don’t appear out of nowhere. Car wash tunnel brushes repeatedly drag dirt across the paint, slowly leaving it scratched, hazy, and dull.

A two-step paint correction uses a cutting stage to remove the heavier defects, followed by a finishing polish to restore clarity, depth, and gloss.

The correction fixes the damage. Proper washing helps keep it from coming back.

I had a bit of an unplanned day off yesterday 3/4 of the way into this truck but I’m back this morning and moving along nicely.

This truck is getting the Level 3 Correction/Coating package which includes a 2 step paint correction. THIS is exactly what this package was designed for.

This truck has so many swirls that it smells like cinnamon.
