Honoring Those Who Serve.

As Military Appreciation Month comes to a close, we want to sincerely thank the men and women who serve our country, the veterans who have served before them, and the families who stand beside them through every sacrifice, challenge, and triumph.

Throughout this month, we have reflected on the values of commitment, vigilance, responsibility, and protection—principles that inspire us not only as a company, but as members of the communities we serve every day.

As we move into June and the heart of Florida’s summer season, one thing is certain:

Pest pressure is only increasing.

Warmer temperatures, rising humidity, afternoon storms, and increased outdoor activity create ideal conditions for:
• Mosquitoes
• Termites
• Ants
• Rodents
• Roaches and other moisture-driven pests

And many problems begin quietly.

A few discarded wings near a window.
A small ant trail in the kitchen.
Mosquitoes around the patio after rain.
Scratching sounds late at night.

Small warning signs can quickly turn into major issues if ignored.

That’s why prevention, early identification, and regular inspections remain some of the most important tools in protecting your home and property.

At Pestguard, our focus has always been long-term protection, professional service, and helping Florida families and communities stay ahead of pest issues before they become larger problems.

As we close out Military Appreciation Month, we once again thank those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

And from all of us at Pestguard:

Thank you for trusting us to help protect what matters most.

Honoring Those Who Serve.

As Military Appreciation Month comes to a close, we want to once again recognize the courage, sacrifice, and commitment of the men and women who serve our country—and the families who stand beside them every day.

Their dedication to protecting others reflects values we deeply respect:
commitment, responsibility, vigilance, and service.

Florida summers are arriving fast.

And with rising temperatures comes increased pest pressure around homes and communities.

Right now, some of the biggest seasonal concerns include:
• Mosquitoes thriving in heat and standing water
• Termite swarm activity increasing across Florida
• Ant colonies expanding after rain and humidity
• Rodents seeking shelter and food sources near structures
• Roaches becoming more active in warm, moist environments

The challenge is that many pest issues begin quietly—often before homeowners notice the warning signs.

That’s why prevention matters.

Simple steps can make a major difference:
✔ Reducing standing water
✔ Trimming vegetation away from structures
✔ Sealing small entry points
✔ Addressing moisture issues early
✔ Scheduling regular inspections

At Pestguard, we focus on long-term prevention, education, and targeted solutions designed specifically for Florida conditions.

As we head into the heart of summer, now is the perfect time to make sure your home and property are protected.

You may not see termites.

But sometimes… you hear them.

One of the lesser-known signs of serious termite activity is a faint clicking or tapping sound coming from inside walls or wood structures.

Why?

Certain termites, especially subterranean species, communicate through vibration and movement within wood and wall voids. In quiet conditions, homeowners occasionally notice subtle sounds before visible damage is ever discovered.

Other warning signs can include:
• Soft or hollow-sounding wood
• Bubbling or distorted paint
• Tight-fitting doors or windows
• Discarded wings near lights or windows
• Mud tubes along foundations or walls

In Florida, Drywood, Asian subterranean, and Formosan termite activity continues increasing as temperatures rise and swarm season progresses.

The challenge with termites is that damage often develops slowly and out of sight—until it becomes extensive.

That’s why early identification matters.

At Pestguard, we specialize in identifying termite activity, species behavior, and the proper treatment approach based on the conditions present.

If something around your home doesn’t sound right, it may be worth taking a closer look.

Florida’s termite swarm season is in full swing.

And one of the most common things homeowners say is:

“I thought they were just flying ants.”

You’re not alone.

Swarming termites and flying ants are often confused, especially this time of year when activity increases around:
• Porch lights
• Windows and doors
• Garages and lanais
• Attics and exterior lighting

But knowing the difference matters.

A termite swarm can be an early warning sign of an active colony nearby.

Here’s a simple way to tell them apart:

TERMITE SWARMERS:
• Straight antennae
• Thick waist
• Two pairs of equal-length wings

FLYING ANTS:
• Bent antennae
• Narrow pinched waist
• Uneven wing sizes

In Florida, Drywood, Asian subterranean, and Formosan termite swarm activity has already begun across many areas.

The earlier termite activity is identified, the better the chances of preventing costly structural damage.

At Pestguard, we specialize in identifying termite species, swarm activity, and the proper treatment approach based on the conditions present.

If you’re seeing flying insects around lights or windows lately, now is the time to take a closer look.

Have you ever heard scratching in the walls at night?

You’re not alone.

One of the most common signs of rodent activity begins after dark, when homes become quiet and rodents become active.

Common warning signs include:
• Scratching or movement in walls or ceilings
• Droppings in cabinets, garages, or storage areas
• Gnaw marks on materials or wiring
• Unusual pet behavior near walls or appliances
• Odors coming from hidden areas

The challenge is that rodents rarely stay in one location for long. Once they establish access to food, water, and shelter, activity can spread quickly throughout a structure.

And in Florida, conditions such as nearby construction, dense vegetation, standing water, and outdoor food sources can all increase rodent pressure around homes and communities.

The key to long-term control is not just trapping rodents—it’s identifying:
✔ How they’re getting inside
✔ What conditions are attracting them
✔ Where activity is developing

At Pestguard, we focus on exclusion, inspection, monitoring, and long-term prevention designed to stop problems before they grow.

If your home has been getting a little louder at night, it may be time to take a closer look.

Memorial Day weekend is over…

Did the mosquitoes show up at your house?

👇 Be honest:

A. They were terrible
B. A few, but manageable
C. Hardly any at all

Comment your answer below.
This time of year, mosquito activity increases rapidly across Florida due to:
• Heat and humidity
• Afternoon rain patterns
• Standing water around homes
• Increased outdoor activity

The challenge is that mosquitoes don’t need much water to multiply. In many cases, populations begin developing in places homeowners rarely notice.

Common breeding areas include:
• Gutters
• Plant trays
• Decorative containers
• Low spots holding water
• Pooling water near patios and lanais

The earlier breeding areas are identified, the easier it is to reduce mosquito pressure before it becomes overwhelming.

At Pestguard, we focus on identifying conditions that allow mosquitoes to thrive and implementing targeted solutions designed for long-term outdoor comfort.

Summer is just getting started.

Honoring Those Who Serve.

Today, we pause as a nation to observe Memorial Day—a solemn day of remembrance dedicated to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is not simply the beginning of summer or a long holiday weekend. It is a day rooted in sacrifice, courage, duty, and honor. It is a time to reflect on the extraordinary cost of the freedoms we enjoy every day and to remember those who willingly placed themselves in harm’s way in defense of others.

These heroes came from every walk of life. They were sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, neighbors, and loved ones. They carried a commitment greater than themselves—a willingness to stand for something larger, even at the ultimate cost.

Their sacrifice can never truly be repaid.

We also recognize the Gold Star families and loved ones who continue to carry that sacrifice with them every single day. Behind every fallen service member is a family whose life was forever changed. Their strength, resilience, and enduring love deserve our deepest respect and gratitude.

During Military Appreciation Month, we have reflected on the many individuals who serve our communities and our country. Today, above all else, we remember those who never returned home.

At Pestguard, we believe protection starts with commitment. Memorial Day reminds us that some commitments are made with extraordinary courage and unimaginable sacrifice.

As families gather together across Florida today—whether at home, outdoors, traveling, or spending time with loved ones—we encourage everyone to pause for a moment of reflection and gratitude for the men and women who made those moments possible.

To our fallen heroes:

Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Your service will always be honored.
Your memory will live on in a grateful nation.

From all of us at Pestguard:

We remember.
We honor.
We are forever grateful.

Honoring Those Who Serve.

As Military Appreciation Month continues, we recognize the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the men and women who serve our country—and the families who stand beside them.

As Memorial Day weekend begins, many families across Florida will be spending more time outdoors, traveling, grilling, and gathering together.

Which brings us to an important question:

👇 What pest becomes the BIGGEST problem around your home during summer?

A. Mosquitoes
B. Ants
C. Roaches
D. Rodents
E. Termites

Comment your answer below.

Every property is different.

Some homes struggle with mosquitoes because of standing water and shaded areas. Others deal with ants from heavy rain, roaches from moisture and heat, rodents looking for food and shelter, or termite activity that often increases during Florida’s swarm season.

The key is identifying conditions early—before small pest activity becomes a much larger issue.

At Pestguard, we focus on long-term prevention, targeted treatment, and helping Florida families stay protected year-round.

We’ll share the most common answer tomorrow.

Honoring Those Who Serve.

As Military Appreciation Month continues, we recognize the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment of the men and women who protect our country—and the families who stand beside them.

Florida heat and humidity create the perfect environment for one thing:

Mosquito activity.

And the problem is often worse after periods of rain followed by warm temperatures—exactly the conditions we’re entering now.

What many people don’t realize is:
Mosquitoes don’t need large bodies of water to multiply.

They can breed in:
• Plant trays and flower pots
• Clogged gutters
• Bird baths
• Low spots holding water
• Children’s toys or outdoor containers

In some cases, just a small amount of standing water can produce hundreds of mosquitoes in a matter of days.

The key is reducing breeding areas before populations explode.

At Pestguard, we focus on identifying mosquito breeding conditions and implementing targeted solutions designed for long-term outdoor comfort.

If mosquitoes are already starting to take over your yard, now is the time to get ahead of it.

Yesterday’s question:

You notice ants trailing across your kitchen counter.

What’s the first thing you should do?

The answer: C — Find out what’s attracting them.

Most ant problems don’t start where you see the ants.

Ants follow scent trails to food, moisture, and shelter. Spraying or wiping up the visible ants may remove the immediate problem—but it often leaves the colony untouched and the trail active.

That’s why the ants usually come right back.

Common attractants include:
• Crumbs and sugary spills
• Moisture around sinks and plumbing
• Pet food left out overnight
• Gaps around doors and windows
• Vegetation or branches touching the structure

The key to long-term control is identifying:
✔ What’s attracting them
✔ Where they’re entering
✔ What species is involved

At Pestguard, we focus on solving the source of the issue—not just treating the ants you can see.

If ant activity is becoming a recurring problem, now is the time to address it properly.
