Winks Detailing LLC - Mobile Detailing puts 3D Orange Degreaser to the test both with and without agitation, and it’s a good reminder that your process depends on the contamination in front of you.

Orange Degreaser uses D-limonene-based chemistry to break down oily grime, grease and road film so the contamination can be wiped or rinsed away instead of relying entirely on mechanical scrubbing.

So when should you actually agitate?

→ Give the chemistry a chance first. Spray, allow a short dwell, and see how much contamination releases on its own
→ Add agitation when the surface or buildup needs it. Textured areas, crevices and heavier bonded grime can benefit from a brush or towel helping the cleaner make better contact
→ Don’t scrub just because you can. If the chemistry has already loosened the contamination, unnecessary aggression only adds time and wear
→ Dilution matters. We recommend 4:1 for heavier jobs like engine bays and wheel wells, and 10:1 for lighter work like door jambs and rubber floor mats

Remember: goal isn’t to use the strongest mix and the most agitation every time. It’s to use the least aggressive process that gets the surface clean efficiently.

A few tips for the Pros:

→ Heavy residue and everyday interior dust are two very different cleaning jobs. Match your chemistry to the level of contamination

→ Don’t assume every interior material can handle the same process. Spot test first, especially on delicate, dyed, coated, or unknown surfaces

→ Work in controlled sections instead of soaking the panel. Let the cleaner loosen the residue, then remove it with a clean microfiber

→ Keep flipping to a clean side of the towel. Once the towel is loaded with smoke residue, continuing to wipe can just redistribute it

→ After heavy degreasing, inspect the surface and follow with the appropriate interior cleaner or conditioner if the material needs it

If your white paint starts bleeding purple, that’s exactly the point 🟣

White Glove Detailing LLC shows just how much iron contamination can be hiding on paint that may not look particularly dirty at first glance.

That purple reaction happens as 3D Iron Remover targets ferrous contamination like brake dust and fallout bonded to the surface. A normal wash can remove loose dirt and road grime, but it won’t necessarily remove these embedded particles.

Why does that matter?
→ Chemical decontamination can remove iron before you ever reach for clay
→ That leaves less bonded contamination for your clay to mechanically pull across the paint
→ It gives you a cleaner foundation before polishing, waxing, sealing, or coating
→ And sometimes the contamination you can’t see is exactly what’s keeping freshly washed paint from feeling truly smooth

A good decon process is simple:
Wash → Iron Remover → Rinse → Rewash → Clay only if the paint still needs it.

And when you do apply it: work on a cool surface in the shade, let the chemistry react, and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

In this video, uses 3D Glass Polish on water marks with a little bonus artwork while stamping the pad! 😉

But there’s an important difference between cleaning glass and correcting glass.

Regular glass cleaner handles dirt, oils and surface film. But when you’re left with stubborn water spotting, mineral etching, fine wiper trails or light scratches that cleaning won’t touch, thats EXACTLY when a dedicated glass polish earns its place. 🔥

Pro Tips:
→ Start with clean glass. You don’t want loose contamination between your pad and the surface while polishing
→ Work one small section at a time. Glass Polish uses cerium oxide to refine defects in the glass, so controlled, even coverage matters more than rushing across the whole windshield
→ A machine isn’t mandatory. Light correction can be done by hand, while a DA + glass polishing pad gives you more correction ability for stubborn defects
→ Know when to stop. Light surface scratches and water-spot etching are fair game. If a scratch is deep enough to catch your fingernail, polishing may not safely solve it
→ Exterior glass only. Don’t use Glass Polish on tint film or plastic surfaces

Then wipe clean with a dry microfiber and inspect from a few angles before deciding whether another pass is actually needed.

A mirror finish usually isn’t about making more passes. It’s about making the right passes.

Cole Stubbe applies 3D ONE section by section, and that final reflection speaks for itself!

ONE is designed to cut and finish from the same bottle, but the result still comes down to how you build your process around it.

Pro tips:

-Start with a test section. Find the least aggressive pad + product combination that gives you the correction you want before repeating it over an entire vehicle

-Keep your working area manageable. Around 2’ × 2’ gives the abrasives time to work evenly and makes it much easier to keep track of your passes

-Overlap your passes. You’re trying to correct the entire section consistently, not just spend extra time over the defects you can see most easily

-Let the pad change the personality of ONE. A more aggressive pad increases correction; stepping down to a finer pad can increase refinement without automatically requiring a different liquid

-Wipe and inspect before moving on. A glossy panel under shop lighting can hide defects. Check your result, then repeat the process across the rest of the car

Door cups might be the smallest correction job with the biggest payoff

MD Car Care tackles those little fingernail scratches behind the door handle with nothing more than 3D SPEED and a microfiber towel!

No machine needed.

SPEED can be worked by hand for localized light correction, which makes tight areas like this a perfect use case. A small amount gives you enough abrasive action to improve light scratches and haze while also leaving behind wax protection.

Pro tips:
→ Check the scratch before promising removal. If it’s only in the upper clear coat, you have a good chance of improving or removing it. If your fingernail catches hard, set expectations accordingly.
→ Tight areas reward patience. Work a small amount of product into the defect with controlled pressure rather than flooding the area with polish.
→ Wipe clean and inspect from multiple angles before doing another round. You want to know whether you’re still correcting a defect or just removing more clear coat chasing something too deep to safely eliminate.

And make sure you’re working on a painted/glossy surface, not textured unpainted trim.

When the audio says it all 😂 Jano Ruiz sure knows how to start a polishing debate 👀

Jokes aside: a DA absolutely CAN remove rotary holograms!

Holograms can be left behind after an aggressive rotary & wool correction step when the finish hasn’t been fully refined.

And the solution isn’t automatically “more rotary” or “switch to a DA.” It’s dialing in the right finishing combination for the paint in front of you.

A few things worth remembering:

→ After a wool + compound step, don’t call the job finished just because the deeper defects are gone. We recommend following a wool correction step with a foam polishing step to refine any holograms left behind

→ ACA 520 and AAT 502 are both designed for that refinement step and can remove holograms, haze, and polish trails when paired with the appropriate pad

→ Machine choice is only part of the equation. Paint hardness, pad, polish, pressure, speed, and pad condition can all change how cleanly the finish comes out

→ Inspect before sign-off. Our ACA 520 process calls for checking the finish under LED lighting at roughly 45° so those holograms don’t make a surprise appearance outside later 😅
