Attention Milpitas Single-Family Residents

Going out of town? Request a vacation hold and pause your service while you're away – your bill will be prorated.

Vacation holds can last 3 weeks to 6 months:
• 3 weeks – 1 month: carts will stay at your home
• 1 – 6 months: carts are removed and returned for a $50 fee

Please contact us before your last service day prior to your vacation to request a hold.

Spring Cleaning? We're here to help!

Take advantage of these 3 programs to get rid of your extra and bulky waste:

1. On-Call Clean-Ups/Bulky Item Pickups
Single-family customers can enjoy up to 4 free pickups per year. Multi-family customers can arrange these pickups for a fee. Reach out to Milpitas Sanitation (408-988-4500) to schedule one for yourself.

2. Self-Haul Voucher Program
Milpitas residents can score up to 2 FREE vouchers per year to drop off one vehicle load (up to 3 cubic yards – about as much as the back of a pickup truck) of approved bulky items at the Zanker Material Processing Facility. Contact Milpitas Sanitation (408-988-4500) to check eligible items and request a voucher.

3. Neighborhood Clean-Up Events
Five neighborhood clean-ups will be held in 2026. Contact the City of Milpitas (408-586-3341) or visit www.milpitas.gov/511/Neighborhood-Clean-Up-Events to find upcoming dates and locations and register for an event. Participation is limited to one event per year, and you MUST make an appointment to attend.
