Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive individual who takes pride in their work and possesses strong skills in custodial services, floor care, and general maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established procedures.
- Maintain floors through buffing, waxing, and polishing as needed to uphold appearance standards.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as required, including minor repairs and painting.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Provide support for special events or projects requiring additional cleaning services.
Requirements
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred; experience with industrial cleaning is a plus.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing and waxing is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform basic facilities maintenance tasks such as residential painting or minor repairs.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may require lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
