Smell of skunk in the air?

This time of year, we see a large increase in skunk activity in urban areas. Not only do these furry uninvited friends bring an unpleasant scent with them, they also can cause widespread turf damage. With the cooler temperatures, these omnivores dig into turf searching for a food source such as grubs or earthworms. Fun fact- skunks do not hibernate. They typically den up in the winter under porches, decks, wood piles, or landscaping.
