In California, we're fortunate to enjoy some of the best top-down driving weather in the country. From coastal cruises to weekend road trips, convertible owners spend a lot of time with the top down. Unfortunately, all that sun, UV exposure, salt air, and environmental fallout can take a toll on convertible tops over time.

When I first received the SLO Tribune Best of SLO award in 2021, it caught me off guard. It was not even on my radar. I never thought people would vote for me, let alone enough to earn local recognition. That moment showed me I was moving in the right direction. I have always put quality and customer satisfaction above everything else. Receiving the award again for the 5th time in 2026 shows me that I have not lost those core values. Another BIG thank you to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, and voted. I share this with you! 🫶🏼

Can you see what I'm pointing at? My fingers are right at it.. The last picture shows it best, and I really had to focus to get that shot. That's the paint protection film line. I just finished installing a partial front end. Which is roughly 40% of the hood with equal coverage across the fenders, and full front bumper.

I bring this up because not too long ago this line was more than obvious. It just plain looked bad. Nowadays, PPF has come a long way and you really have to look for this line of where the paint ends, and the film begins. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you might even look right past it. Gone are the days of bad looking obvious film lines.

Before I started doing paint protection film, I would always recommend that it was the best protection from rock chips and impact on anything facing forward. And that hasn't changed. A full front end PPF is just that. Anything and everything on the front end that faces forward. Bumper, fenders, hood, & mirrors. Those areas get the most abuse while commuting. While the template cut out is easy to do on the other pieces, it is simpler to bulk a hood. Which means taking a large piece of film, placing it over the hood, and trimming it to fit.

MTE 2026 is a wrap! This was my first time attending this convention and I must say I will be back next year! It's always a pleasure to meet up and talk with like-minded business owners in the detailing industry. Saw some familiar faces and got to meet new ones. That's what it's all about!
