The first sign of termites you see may not be when the problem started.

Termite activity can sometimes go unnoticed for months or even longer because much of it happens where homeowners simply can't see it.

Drywood termites can live inside wood without soil contact. Subterranean termites can travel from the soil into a structure through concealed areas around foundations, slabs, and crawlspaces.

So when you finally notice:

“I saw swarmers after treatment. It didn’t work.”

Not necessarily!

One of the most important things to understand about a localized termite treatment is that it isn’t designed to kill termites on contact.

Instead, delayed-action treatments allow termites to encounter the treated area and carry the active ingredient back to other colony members. That process happens over time. ⏱️

So, yes — termites that were already present may still emerge and swarm while the treatment is taking effect.

Do you need to wash everything after fumigation? 🏠

It’s one of the most common questions we hear — and the answer might surprise you.

"If my home was fumigated, why are there ants inside?"

The answer is actually pretty simple.

🏡 Ants usually live outside.
A termite fumigation is designed to eliminate drywood termites living inside the structure. Ant colonies are typically located in the soil, landscaping, or around the exterior of your home, so they aren't affected by the fumigation.

🍽️ Ants will eat termites.
Many ant species feed on dead insects—including termites. After a fumigation, ants may discover dead termites inside the wood and come looking for an easy meal. While it can be alarming to see, it doesn't mean the fumigation didn't work.

🎯 Ants require a different treatment.
Termites and ants are completely different pests, which means they require different treatment methods. If ants become an issue after your fumigation, they can be treated separately with the appropriate ant control.
