Public Works is accepting applications to fill three (3) Vegetation Management Technician positions in our Maintenance Division until Tuesday, 7/8/25 at 11:59 pm. This position plays a vital role in the management and maintenance of the County’s natural and developed landscapes.

Vegetation Management Technicians are responsible for performing a variety of tasks in diverse environments, including rural, riparian, suburban, and flood control areas. In addition to vegetation management duties, technicians may be required to assist with general services, such as spraying vegetation at other County facilities.

As we continue to celebrate National Women's Month, we will acknowledge some women who have contributed to pest control. Maria Sibylla Merian is celebrated as one of the world's first ecologists. She was one of the first to describe the metamorphosis of insects in detail. Her artwork in "The Metamorphosis of the Insects of Suriname" displays beautiful illustrations of the lifecycle of Suriname's butterflies, moths, and other creatures.
