POSITION SUMMARY
As a Team Member you will engage in multiple roles within the context of being a laundromat attendant and customer service. This involves observing the laundromat as patrons visit to conduct their own laundry, while also attending the business retail office for fluff and fold and dry-cleaning services.
The role consists of complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established procedures. Ensuring appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud. Performing all duties in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF LAUNDRY SERVICES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Following established production procedures and systems
• Determining amount and type of supplies required using production systems, ensuring availability of supplies or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
• Complying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observing proper preparation and handling techniques
• Storing completed orders properly and safely by marking dates and items
• Reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance
• Correctly washing items following standard protocols and special customer requests
• Maintaining daily production records
• Always keeping work area neat and clean; cleaning and maintaining equipment used
• Sorting linens, towels, clothing and other laundry items by color, size and material
• Wrapping laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests
• Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols
• Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment
• Unloading laundry from commercial dryers
• Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags and fabric softener
• Creating laundry tags with identifiable customer information
• Creating invoices for laundry orders
• Performing other work-related duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CUSTOMER SERVICE/CASHIER
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Maintaining complete knowledge of business services and prices and protocols
• Selling retail items and lottery
• Entering and completing customers’ orders on computer system; accepting different types of payment and making change
• Interacting with patrons in a friendly and fast manner; ensuring patrons’ complete satisfaction and exceeding their expectations
• Maintaining specific side-work and ensuring the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
• Clearing equipment/ counters / floors / bathroom
• Reporting to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintaining well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy
• Performing other duties as directed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• A high school diploma, or GED eligible
• Preferred prior experience in the laundry industry
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Moderate reading and writing skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
• Promotes positive public relations with patrons
• Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment
• Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
• Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is standing the entire shift. The employee frequently reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, carries, and pushes. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls in repetitive motions. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and carries tubs and cases weighing up to 50 pounds. There will be times when climbing ladders/steps are necessary as well. The employee must frequently communicate with expediters and servers and read orders on tickets. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, and frequent washing of hands.
