Information Isn’t Experience
One thing I like about YouTube is how much detailing information is available now.
The problem is that information and experience aren’t the same thing.
You can watch a hundred videos about polishing paint, but that doesn’t teach you how to read the paint in front of you.
It doesn’t teach you when a scratch is safe to chase, when the paint is getting too thin, or why two vehicles from the same manufacturer can react completely differently.
Those lessons come from spending thousands of hours working on real vehicles and occasionally learning things the hard way.
That’s why I still prefer looking at a customer’s vehicle in person. A quick walk-around usually tells me more than a dozen pictures or an online comment section ever could.
