On Monday night my Dad laid down next to his wife of over 55 years, the true love of his life, closed his eyes. Sometime in the night, he peacefully took his final breath.
He was truly one of the best men that the world will ever know. The voice of guidance, comfort, and strength for so many people. He taught me how to be a man, a father, a husband, and most importantly how to love and protect those around us.
On behalf of my Family, I would like to thank everyone who had reached out to us during this time. Your love and compassion are more comforting than we will ever be able to express.
For those of you have reached out to me personally by text or phone and haven’t heard anything back, please accept my apologies. Stoicism during times of adversity was a trait that I adopted from my father. My time had been consumed with making sure that my mother is taken care of and the other promises I made to my father before he passed are met. Your calls and texts mean the world to me and my family, please don’t think otherwise.
I would also like to say a special thank you to my brothers and sisters of the Fire Dept. The way you showed up and stood in the driveway of the house while all this was going on was too meaningful for me to express into words. It meant so much to my mom to see that while I was doing my best to make sure the family was taken care of that you were there to have my back and make sure that I was a well. I truly love you all, you are family. It is in these moments that I realize that the brotherhood is alive and well.
There will be a celebration of life in the coming weeks. I will try and keep everyone updated the best I can.
Again, Thank you. All of your support means so much to my family.
