Did you know that carpet cleaning products in an aerosol spray leave a sticky residue from the propellant? We recommend that if you decide to use an over the counter carpet cleaning product to use one in a non-aerosol spray container. **The residue from the propellant will actually attract more dirt.

4-H Idea of the Day:

Let's get outside and make some art! Maybe you have already been outside making chalk art, but have you tried puffy paint art!

Here's how:

Mix together 2 cups flour, 2 cups salt and 2 cups water. Make sure to mix well and all lumps are gone. Next divide into 4 smaller bowls and add food coloring to each bowl. Then you can pour into squeeze bottles. Don't worry if you don't have squeeze bottles because plastic gallon bags work great too! Just pour into the bag and when outside and ready cut one of the bottom corners.

Then have fun creating your puffy art!

No access to cleaning wipes? Stores sold out? Make your own.

You will need...
~Roll paper towels
~A container to place roll in, I used empty cleaning wipes container. You will need to remove the lid to the wipe container to proceed.
~Hydrogen peroxide
~Favorite essential oil (i used an antibacterial blend)

1.Cut roll of towels in half, place inside wipe container
2.Open peroxide, slowly pour over towels until damp. Add more peroxide if necessary.
3. Add a few drops of oil
4. Pull out cardboard inner section of paper towel. This will pull the paper towel up.
5. Put lid back on.
6. Use to wipe hard surfaces, door k***s, counter tops, handles, light switches, etc.

****common sense disclaimer...don't eat or drink what is in the wipe container. don't flush any of this down the toilet. don't use these wipes on any colorfast fabrics or leather. not a good idea to use for toilet paper or on your pet or baby.
