Bed Bug or Bat Bug?

Found this little guy while working around a non-active bat roost today (they got their eviction notice) At first glance, bat bugs look almost identical to bed bugs, but they’re typically associated with bats and can wander into living spaces when their host is nearby or leaves the structure.

Wildlife problems don’t always stop with the animal itself, sometimes they bring a few extra surprises with them. 🦇

Come see us at the parade and catch a goodie bag!

Tomorrow's the day! The Smoky Hill Museum Street Fair is finally here. The parade steps off down Santa Fe at 10 a.m., then Old West activities, live music, and crafts fill the streets until 4 p.m.

Hungry? Chili tasting tickets are just a couple of dollars, and each one lets you vote for your favorite pot.

Admission is free, the fun is all ages, and we will be downtown from morning to late afternoon. We look forward to seeing you there!

The flannel is on, so you know what that means… seal it. 🐭

Okay, mouse control isn’t quite this simple, but exclusion is a HUGE part of keeping mice out.

Gap around a pipe? Seal it.
Gap under a door? Door sweep.
Gap in the foundation? Seal it.

Trapping mice is only part of the job. Finding how they’re getting in and fixing those entry points is what helps keep them out.

And if you don’t want to seal it yourself… call the Five-0.

I wanted to talk about bat exclusions, secondary entry points, and why simply putting a one-way device on the obvious exit may not solve the entire problem.

Also, something I forgot to mention in the video: if you or someone in your home has had direct contact with a bat, please contact a medical professional or your local health department for guidance.

If you’re unsure about what you’re seeing around your home, feel free to send me pictures. I’m happy to help point you in the right direction, even if you don’t end up hiring us.
