Real rug cleaning experience happens on the wash floor.

This week, ARCS will host the Intermediate In-Plant Rug Cleaning class in Dallas, Texas, giving students the opportunity to learn directly inside an active rug cleaning facility.

This three-day class focuses on practical knowledge and hands-on experience, including:
🧼Rug washing techniques
🧶Rug construction and identification
đź’§Cleaning chemistry and spotting
🌊Drying theory
✨Finishing procedures after washing

Students will work on real rugs, observe different cleaning techniques, and gain a deeper understanding of how the process works in a production environment.

Classes like this help strengthen the next generation of rug care professionals.

Most rug cleaning mistakes happen before the rug even hits the wash floor.

Rug cleaning isn’t just about washing — it’s about understanding what you’re working on before you ever touch water.

In the Intermediate In-Plant Rug Cleaning class, you’ll learn how to properly assess rugs before cleaning, including:
🧵 Identifying fiber types and construction
🎨 Recognizing dye stability risks
đź“‹ Intake assessment and documentation
🧼 Choosing the right cleaning approach
đź’§ Understanding how rugs will react during washing

Then you’ll take that knowledge straight to the wash floor and apply it in real time. This is hands-on training inside a production facility — not a theory-based course.

Education doesn’t stop when the convention ends.

ARCS is preparing to release a new online course designed specifically for rug cleaning facilities.

This course will focus on practical knowledge for rug plant owners and operators — the kind of information that helps businesses run more efficiently and continue improving their operations.

Topics will focus on real-world rug plant environments and the challenges many facilities face as they grow.

More details on the course rollout will be shared soon!

Part 2 of Day 2 of the Annual Convention included a tour of rug washing facility & rug showroom. We also enjoyed a presentation on the history of the company & the connections they’ve made around the world.

Their operation is truly world class! After being in business for over 100 years, their commitment to excellence is impressive. We are so happy & thankful for their generosity & hospitality!

Part 1 of Day 2 of the Annual Convention was spent at Renaissance Rug Cleaning Inc.!

We toured their entire facility including the reception area, wash floor, the repair workshop, plus a special surprise - a cashmere rug from the 17-18th century!

The 2026 Annual Convention in Portland, OR is officially underway! 🎉

We had a great morning with the revealing of ARCS new Online Rug Cleaning Training Course as well as the CEU Designer Course Presentation.

To quote a member’s comments after the course reveals, “This is the best thing that has ever happened in the industry.” Wow! 🤩

PLUS - we enjoyed CRS graduate presentations & talks from our associate members.
