A finished French drain in Tampa Bay with the granite stone smoothed out on top. The homeowner chose a stone finish rather than running sod back over the trench. Either option works. The system is identical underneath.

A stone finish keeps a visible cue that there is a drainage system here, looks clean year round, and makes maintenance access faster. Trufam Drainage. Request an Estimate at trufamdrainage.com.

Same French drain project, further along. The trench is being closed up. The double-punch geotextile fabric is folded over the granite stone, the way it should be. From this point the surface gets finished to match the yard.

Closing a French drain the right way is what keeps it working long term. The fabric has to be folded fully over the rock to keep dirt and roots from falling into the system from above. Skip that step and the system silts up in a year or two.

A Trufam maintenance visit in Tampa Bay. Washing leaves off a metal roof so they do not end up in the gutters and the drainage system. Roof debris becomes gutter debris becomes drainage debris. Catching it at the roof level keeps the whole system cleaner.

Peace of Mind Memberships handle the gutters, the cleanouts, the basins, and the outlets on a schedule. The system stays serviceable. The home stays protected. Memberships start at 19 dollars per month.

A piece of old corrugated drainage pipe pulled out during a new install. The inside is packed solid with shingle gravel that washed off the roof and got trapped in every ridge of the corrugation.

This is why we do not use corrugated pipe for solid underground drainage. The corrugations grab debris and never let it go. We use SDR-35 solid PVC. Smooth wall, full flow, no trap. Trufam Drainage. Request an Estimate at trufamdrainage.com.

A drainage termination doing the wrong job. Only a 4 inch line. The whole thing was not designed right, so the basin just holds water. The top has popped off and is lying in the grass nearby. Mosquito larvae are visible in the standing water.

A real termination is sized for the flow, set at the right grade, and built so the water actually leaves. Otherwise the system is breeding mosquitoes instead of preventing flooding. Trufam Drainage. Get a Drainage Assessment at trufamdrainage.com.

A drainage connection failing in two directions at once. Someone took a corrugated downspout riser, punched a hole in the side, and shoved a channel drain pipe into the hole. No fitting, no slope, no plan. Water from the downspout backs up into the channel drain. Sediment from the channel drain falls into the underground system.

A real connection uses the right fitting, the right slope, and a sediment basin to catch debris before it enters the line. Trufam Drainage. Schedule a Drainage Walkthrough at trufamdrainage.com.
