Same French drain project, further along. The trench is being closed up. The double-punch geotextile fabric is folded over the granite stone, the way it should be. From this point the surface gets finished to match the yard.

Closing a French drain the right way is what keeps it working long term. The fabric has to be folded fully over the rock to keep dirt and roots from falling into the system from above. Skip that step and the system silts up in a year or two.

A Trufam maintenance visit in Tampa Bay. Washing leaves off a metal roof so they do not end up in the gutters and the drainage system. Roof debris becomes gutter debris becomes drainage debris. Catching it at the roof level keeps the whole system cleaner.

A piece of old corrugated drainage pipe pulled out during a new install. The inside is packed solid with shingle gravel that washed off the roof and got trapped in every ridge of the corrugation.

A drainage termination doing the wrong job. Only a 4 inch line. The whole thing was not designed right, so the basin just holds water. The top has popped off and is lying in the grass nearby. Mosquito larvae are visible in the standing water.

A drainage connection failing in two directions at once. Someone took a corrugated downspout riser, punched a hole in the side, and shoved a channel drain pipe into the hole. No fitting, no slope, no plan. Water from the downspout backs up into the channel drain. Sediment from the channel drain falls into the underground system.

A channel drain getting hydro jetted in Tampa Bay. The mud and silt that builds up inside is being flushed out under high-pressure water and captured by a sediment basin so it does not reach the rest of the system.

This is what real drainage maintenance looks like. The hydro jetting clears the line. The sediment basin catches the debris. The next time the basin is cleaned out, the system is reset for another season of heavy rain.
