One of the worst drainage connections we have seen in Tampa Bay. The downspout was hooked to a 2x3 adapter. That necks down to inch and a half pipe. Then necks down again to inch and a quarter. A channel drain was also tied into the same line.

Pipe of that size cannot move the water from a single downspout. Add a channel drain on top and the system is finished before the first storm. There is no way for it to work.

A Trufam sump system at the excavation stage. The main pump chamber and the extra storage chamber are set in the ground. Fabric and drainage rock have not gone in yet. This is what makes our sump systems hold up. Heavy duty culvert pipe, 4 foot deep chambers, and an extra chamber for storage so the pump cycles less and lasts longer.

A homeowner could not find their drainage pop-up anywhere in the yard. Grass had grown over it completely. We hydro jetted the system to follow the line and find it, then pulled the top. Mud, dirt, and leaves came pouring out.

Pop-up emitters disappear under grass and clog quietly. We replaced it with one of our high-flow basins that stays visible and easy to maintain.

When a drainage system terminates the wrong way, the property pays the price for years. This is the erosion path running from a bad outlet straight into the neighborhood waterway. The ground is being carved out by the same water the system is supposed to be moving safely.
