Back-to-school season is officially here — which means homework, art projects, and the occasional marker mishap. Before you write off that carpet, here's how to lift the stain the right way:

1️⃣ Blot the spot with a clean white cloth to pull up the ink. Don't rub — soft patting only.
2️⃣ Mix 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water, apply with a clean cloth, and let it sit a few minutes.
3️⃣ Sprinkle baking soda over the area to absorb the color and stain.
4️⃣ Tap with a clean, damp cloth to lift residue. Repeat until it's gone.
5️⃣ Pat dry with a clean cloth — and skip the heat, which can damage carpet.
