A lot of people tend to use these products interchangeably so let’s break it down! 🥰
Barkeeper’s Friend Soft Cleanser:
· Best for: Rust, hard water stains, lime, scale, and tarnish.
· Compatible with the following surfaces: Stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper alloys, aluminum, ceramic, porcelain, glass, and corian.
· Avoid using on: Gold, silver, stone, colored grout, and lacquered/painted/mirrored surfaces.
🧼 Carly’s Clean Take: FANTASTIC product. It’s extremely rare for me to use it though. I have a super sensitive sense of smell and I just can’t stand the smell of any BKF product. But, this will always be a product that I have in my cleaning closet just in case! If you are able to use the Powder Cleanser, I highly recommend it over the Soft Cleanser.
Cif Cream:
· Best For: Everyday grime, grease, mild hard water stains, and soap scum build up.
· Compatible with the following surfaces: stainless steel, ceramic, enamel, plastic, chrome, gold, brass, sealed stone, glass, painted metal, porcelain, and fiberglass.
· Surfaces to avoid: Acrylic, leather, and unfinished wood.
🧼 Carly’s Clean Take: I LOVE this product! All of the scents are pretty light and smell great! If I am having to tackle rust, I will reach for BKF but there have been moments where I had small spots of rust to clean and this lightened them up enough. Also, just wanted to add that there is no difference between The Cif Cream and The Scrub Daddy Cif Cream. Some people seem to think that the ingredients might be different but they’re not. It simply comes down to a co-marketing partnership. Cif/Jif is from across the pond and they likely teamed up with Scrub Daddy simply to appeal to American consumers. So feel free to pick up any cif cream in stores near you, regardless of the branding!
TLDR; Have a ton of build up with rust and don’t mind the smell of pennies? Go for BKF. Doing a regular cleaning, need to use lighter scents but have to tackle soap scum? Go for the Cif Cream.
OK LOVE YOU BYE 💕
