Troy’s 2023 Street Glide Special came through the shop this week after winning the Skinny B’s Winter Detail Giveaway.

Featuring a stunning custom paint set by CF (Chris Frasher) Designs Paint out of Oklahoma, this bike is a rolling piece of artwork. The pearl silver, black metallic, and subtle pinstriping create a look that’s both timeless and impossible to ignore.

After a thorough wash and decontamination, this bike received a two-step polish and show-finish refinement to maximize depth, clarity, and gloss. The metallic and flake now explode in the light, the chrome is razor sharp, and the 114ci powerplant has the contrast it deserves.

Some bikes are clean.

Some bikes stop people in their tracks.

This one does both.

🏍️ WINTER GIVEAWAY WINNER COMPLETE 🏍️

Earlier this year, Troy was the lucky winner of the Skinny B’s Winter Season Bike Detail Giveaway. This week, I finally had the opportunity to get my hands on his absolutely stunning 2023 Street Glide Special.

To say this bike caught my attention would be an understatement.

Troy picked this bike up during a trip out west, and it features a custom paint set by CF (Chris Frasher) Designs Paint out of Oklahoma. I’ve worked on a lot of motorcycles over the years, but this paintwork is easily one of my favorites. The design is timeless, the lines flow perfectly from panel to panel, and the level of detail is remarkable. Every time I walked around the bike, I noticed something new.

The paint has an incredible combination of pearl, metallic, and fine flake that completely changes character depending on the lighting. In the sun, it absolutely comes alive.

For this detail, the bike received:

✅ Thorough wash and decontamination
✅ Paint inspection and correction preparation
✅ One-step machine polish
✅ Show-finish refinement process
✅ Chrome and brightwork enhancement
✅ Engine detail and dressing
✅ Seat conditioning and protection
✅ Final wipe-down and inspection

The transformation wasn’t about bringing a neglected bike back to life… it was about taking an already beautiful motorcycle and maximizing everything that was there.

The paint now has noticeably more depth and clarity, the metallic and flake stand out with far greater definition, the chrome is sharper, and the contrast throughout the 114ci powertrain really pops. Even the seat regained that rich satin appearance that complements the bike perfectly without looking greasy or overdone.

This is one of those motorcycles that reminds me why I enjoy what I do. Not because it was the most challenging correction, but because it allowed me to spend time appreciating the craftsmanship that went into building it in the first place.

Congratulations again to Troy on winning the giveaway and thank you for trusting me with such a beautiful machine.

After a busy start to the season, my schedule is finally beginning to open up starting next week (May 31st).

If your bike needs a proper detail, paint correction, ceramic coating, or just some serious attention before summer riding kicks into full swing, now’s the time to get on the calendar.

I’ve got a limited number of openings available and they tend to fill quickly once the weather stays consistent.

Message the page directly to schedule or ask questions. Let’s make your bike look better than showroom clean. 🏍️🔥

Black paint either looks average… or absolutely dangerous. 🖤

This Ultra Classic came in clean already, but the goal was to push it past “clean” and into that deep liquid-black territory where the reflections melt into the paint.

Mission accomplished.

The fairing alone had me testing multiple combinations until the black finally looked rich, wet, and alive under the lights. No filters. No tricks. Just hours of correction, refining, and chasing depth.

This thing looks like it was dipped in ink. 🔥

This 2015 Ultra Classic is officially finished and ready to head back home.

What started as a “pretty clean” motorcycle quickly turned into one of those projects where I kept chasing just a little more depth… a little more richness… a little more glow in the black paint.

Black is unforgiving. It shows everything. But when it’s dialed in correctly, nothing looks better.

The goal with this bike was never just high gloss. I wanted that deep, liquid appearance where the paint almost looks poured onto the bike instead of sprayed. Under the lights, the fairing, tank, bags, and tour pack now have that rich wet look I was after from the beginning.

Huge credit to Brian for bringing me an already well-kept motorcycle to work with. That always makes a difference.

A few final touches:
• Full detail and decontamination
• Multi-stage paint correction
• Refined polishing process tailored specifically for this paint
• Chrome and trim refinement
• Final protection applied throughout

This Ultra turned out absolutely stunning and was a blast to work on.

Now excuse me while I stare at this thing for another couple of days before it leaves. 😂

Progress Update: Liquid Black. 🖤

Brian dropped off his 2015 Ultra Classic before heading out on vacation, and honestly… he brought me a pretty clean bike to begin with. The paint was in surprisingly good condition for its age, especially being black.

At that point, the mission shifted from a standard detail to taking an already clean bike and elevating it to the next level.

I normally have a very specific process for black paint, but I decided to switch things up on this one. I started with the front fairing and tested multiple pad/polish combinations until I found the exact look I was chasing. My goal with black paint isn’t a cold, overly crisp finish… I want it to look deep, rich, and almost liquid under the lights.

This one is starting to get there. The kind of black that looks like you could reach into it.

Still more work to do before final coating and protection, but I wanted to share a progress update because this bike is turning out beautiful so far.

Also - if you’ve reached out over the last couple weeks about scheduling and I haven’t responded yet, please shoot me another message. It’s been a wild stretch balancing personal life, my professional career, and detailing work. I’m currently booking about 2–3 weeks out, but I am still actively accepting appointments beyond that.

As always, I truly appreciate the trust, support, and everyone following along with these projects.

This 2006 Ultra Classic came in faded, oxidized, and lacking the depth it once had. After a full correction process, the red came back rich, the black turned deep and glossy, and the entire bike looks years newer.

Older Harley paint just hits different. The late ‘90s and early 2000s bikes have harder paint that responds incredibly well when corrected properly. This one was a blast to bring back to life.

About a week ago, Dwayne made the 1.5-hour trip from the Thumb to bring me his 2006 Ultra Classic. Honestly, I felt pretty honored he trusted me with it.

I took my time on this one and chipped away at it throughout the week. And man… this bike responded beautifully. The red came back incredibly rich, and the black gained a deep, liquid gloss that’s hard to capture in photos. Not bad for a nearly 20-year-old bike. 🔥

One thing I actually enjoy about working on the late ‘90s and early 2000s Harleys is how much better the paint behaves during correction. The clear coat is harder and more forgiving. The newer bikes? Half the time it feels like you can scratch them just by looking at them wrong.

Dwayne specifically asked for before-and-after photos, so I made sure to document the transformation properly. These older touring bikes clean up unbelievably well when the paint is corrected the right way.

Appreciate the trust, Dwayne. Ride safe, brother. 🤘

After the wash and decontamination process, it’s time to move into paint correction. I usually start with the front fairing first and test different pad and polish combinations to dial in the best possible finish while keeping the process efficient.

For this bike, I initially wet sanded with 2,000 grit Abralon pads followed by 3D One on an orange pad. The results improved the finish, but it still wasn’t giving me the level of clarity and depth I was after.

So I stepped things up. I went back down to Menzerna 300 on a blue pad to cut through the heavier oxidation and defects, then refined everything with 3D ACA 520 on an orange pad. That combination completely transformed the paint and brought the gloss and depth back to life.

Older Harley paint can be tricky. Sometimes you have to adjust the process instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach. That’s the difference between just polishing a bike… and truly correcting it. 🔥

Some jobs are more than just a detail.

This one took me a full week.

A 1993 90th Anniversary Electra Glide Classic… brought to me after sitting for two years.

But this wasn’t just any bike.

It belonged to Josh’s dad.

After his father passed, the bike sat… waiting.
Josh brought it to me with one goal—to bring it back to life so he could start riding it again… and pass his current bike down to his son.

Recently, they rode together for the first time.

As someone who’s been lucky enough to put thousands of miles on the road with my own dad, that hit home in a way I can’t really put into words.

This wasn’t about making it perfect.
It was about bringing it back to life… respecting the history while giving it a second chapter.

At 33+ years old, this bike needed a lot of attention:

• Wet sanded with 1500 grit Abralon
• Menzerna 300 (Rupes Blue Pad)
• Menzerna 3500 (Rupes Yellow Pad)
• Menzerna 3800 (Rupes White Pad)
• Machine polished the chrome with Flitz

After paint correction and chrome polishing, the entire bike was protected with GTechniq Crystal Serum Light—locking in that gloss and providing long-term protection moving forward.

Every inch of this bike was gone through to restore clarity, depth, and shine without taking away its character.

This is why I love what I do.

It’s not just about clean bikes… it’s about the stories they carry, and the miles still ahead.

Here’s to many more rides between a father and son.
