Early 1900s Mill Street, from near the corner of E. Main, looking toward downtown. The Riverside Flats near the center of the photo opened their doors in 1900. The J.B. Wise Co building, the then three story building on the corner of Main Ave, was completed in 1891; most will remember it as a single story building, home to the California Brewery, Wilbur's, and later Edward Massey, Jr.'s Roller Skating Rink. At the time of the photo, many tenant homes populated the street, making an easy commute for workers up and down the street to the factories and mills.
