OUR NEWEST ACQUISITION! This rug is wonderfully symmetrical with a delightful combination of colors. Scattered across a background of a nice, muted baby blue are several rosettes arranged symmetrically. The round floral shapes are complimented by two weaving vines on each side and the stark, thin inner and outer borders and are mirrored by more round rosettes in between. The details are in orange the color of red clay, burgundy the color of soft garnet, yellow the color of clouded sunlight, teal the color of stormy seas, and blue navy. The botanical design is modeled after traditional Sultani rugs, but the spherical rosettes and warm palette give it a neat, contemporary feel.

Tightly knotted from high-quality wool, this Fine Gabbeh rug features a faded blue hue with a modern geometric design. Gabbeh rugs are Persian rugs that tend to be thicker than other types and are less likely to exhibit radial symmetry. Traditionally woven by Qashqai in the region of the Zagros mountains, the pile was kept longer and they were often used for sleeping. Some Gabbeh rugs feature neutral palettes like this one while others are vibrant with nature imagery. This specific rug offers a perfect blend of contemporary style and traditional craftsmanship.

This is a Prayer Rug meaning it is intended to face in one direction and has bilateral symmetry. This 3’3” by 5’3” is an Antique, over one hundred years old. It comes from the Oushak region in western Turkey which is renowned for their sturdy, woolen, hand knotted rugs. This rug is predominantly red with a bright golden yellow border and details in black, muted yellow, and ivory. The center is predominantly open with the majority of details located in the floral borders. It has a short fringe and is in impressively excellent condition.

This “Sino-Persian” rug was woven in China but shows the exchange of inspiration between rug making hubs. Its design is very Persian with its symmetrical floral and botanical all-over design that is like vines weaving. The color combination is less Persian: It is predominantly cream with details of light blue, pinks, greys, and blacks. This blend of aesthetics create a striking and elegant piece. The rug has a long fluffy fringe and a dark, detailed border. It is 3’1” by 5’1”.

This Russian Kazak is striking with warm hues and deep colors achieved by natural vegetable dyes. It is made with the slitweaving technique wherein there is a slit between color blocks created by how the weft is wrapped around the warp of the rug. It results in a bold color pattern and a fully reversible kilim. This runner is eleven feet four inches with four medallions down the center. The design is tribal and geometric and it has no fringe.

It was nerve-wracking to bring our blade to bear directly through the central medallion, however we trusted the process and are really pleased with the results. But what do you think? Would you take the risk?

This rug is ornate with many intricate details. It has an all-over design with small floral motifs. Hand knotted, the bright colors of the rug are very eye-catching. The rug is predominantly red with lots of thick details of blue and navy. The border is cream, red, and blue and it has a medium fringe. The rug is 2’11” by 4’6”.

Baluch/Baluchi rugs are renowned for their durability and tribal designs. They have a rugged authenticity to them and are made from sheeps’wool or specific breeds of goat hair. This rug is an Antique meaning that it is over one hundred years old. This hand-knotted masterpiece has endured the test of time. It is predominantly brown and burnt orange with a geometric diamond grid that is like a garden. In each square there is a four-leafed element that is regular and eye pleasing. It is 2’8” by 4’9” and has a short fringe.
