With summer weather and activities right around the corner please keep a few things in mind. Graduation is tomorrow night and summer break kicks off this weekend, which means lots of kids will be out and about having fun. Drive safe and keep kids in sight.

It’s also finally time to get the motorcycles out. Get in the habit of looking for them on the roads.

Most of the mountain is still trying to shed its winter coat. This means it's still cold in the higher elevations. Running water and mud are prevalent. Please don't drive in wet and muddy areas. This ruins habitat and camping sites for all of us.

The streams and rivers are running very fast and very cold. Stay away from river banks as they can be very unstable and please watch children and pets closely when they are near water. Our lakes are all filling up and are ready to recreate on as well. Let’s remember to wear lifejackets to prevent tragedy.

Be prepared when heading outdoors with all the proper equipment to self-rescue or be able to survive until help arrives. Let someone know where you are going and when you are coming home.

Summer is here, let’s make it a fun and safe one here in Uintah County.

I would like to thank everyone for keeping me busy this year!!! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! I will be cleaning interior windows this winter otherwise, I’ll see you in 2022 when the snow melts.

When I say I clean the window tracks, this is part of it. All that debris was under the bottom track.
