Rack & Riddle Custom Wine Services, the North Bay Area’s premier custom crush and winemaking facility is currently looking to fill a Bottling Line Mechanic Level III position. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to all repairs and preventative maintenance on bottling machinery and systems; Installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining bottling line mechanical and electrical systems. The position will perform minor modifications to improve performance and to increase production and participate in or supervises new equipment installation. This position performs under general supervision.
Essential Job Duties:
• Performs repair, modification and preventative maintenance tasks on buildings, facilities and winery properties
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance
• Works on assigned projects; responds to urgent maintenance calls
• Maintains equipment, equipment warranties and maintenance records
• Perform bottling line changeover and adjustment, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
• Maintains and manages production equipment spare parts inventory
• Performs general mechanical work connected with various facilities projects such as welding, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, refrigeration and HVAC
• Follows blueprints, drawings and general instructions to plan and layout assignments
• Assembles and installs mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems such as production machinery/tools, conveyor systems, storage racks, tanks, facility equipment and the like
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems. May perform non-certified welding, wiring and simple machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks
• Uses a wide variety of hand, power, and machine tools safely
• Assists with general carpentry and moving of equipment, materials and furniture
• Follows shop safety practices and shop housekeeping practices
Skills/Qualifications include:
• 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills required
• Forklift experience preferred but not required
• Requires flexible schedule for shift changes and overtime - during harvest season
• Required to possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Requires skilled knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry tools, procedures and safety
• Ability to read and write and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings and perform basic math
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Knowledgeable in OSHA, state and federal safety regulations
• Ability to read and understand error messages on machinery
