- What is it?

A soil test looks at the characteristics and properties of the soil to determine if the soil is suitable for a septic system.
- How does it work? Two or more soil pits are dug on the parcel and specific soil features are noted, such as colors, clay content, structure, bedrock, stone slabs, etc. This information, combined with your project details, tells us if the site can support a standard septic

system.
- Why would I need one? We have a wide variety of soils here in the Ozarks and not all of them are well-suited to handle a septic system. For buyers, a soil test helps you determine if you can build on the property or not before you buy. For sellers, a soil test in hand helps showcase your property's value to potential buyers.
