There is post in a public group regarding the laundromat charging extra to use the card on the machines.

There is NO EXTRA charge to use the cards on the machines though it does get a pre-authorization amount of $10 on your first swipe. That first $10 authorized amount is good on multiple washer/dryers.

Works same way as a swipe at a gas station that might hold X amount but once posted it will be what was pumped.

This amount will temporarily appear on your account until the actual amount used is complete. You bank may place a hold on you account in this amount for up to 48 business hours, at which time the actual amount used will appear.

More signs will be put up explaining how this works in the laundromat ASAP.

We do accept Quarters and Dollar coins as an alternate option.
