Mosquito Protection tip for Parents: Strategically-placed floor fans providing a breeze across the patio or deck will serve to keep mosquitoes at bay. Mosquitoes are weak flier and will not be able to navigate properly against or within the airstream. In addition, the fans will effectively dissipate the olfactory cues mosquitoes use to locate and home in on prey.

Mosquito Control Myth #2: In order for citronella candles to work properly you actually have to stay within the smoky plume to keep mosquitoes away. The mosquito's drive for a blood meal is much stronger than the diluted scent of the citronella candle.
