Steam gets what a vacuum leaves behind.

A customer booked us for two cars and picked a different detail for each, based on what they thought fit. We talked it through with them before the appointment and agreed it made sense. The VW was in better shape inside than the Subaru.

The VW just needed a good, thorough clean, so it got the Signature Detail. Decon and clay on the paint, ceramic sealant, wheels sealed, interior vacuumed and wiped down.

The Subaru’s interior needed more. That one got the Ultimate. Steam on every surface inside, carpets and mats scrubbed and treated, leather conditioned, headliner, engine bay, and a sealant outside that lasts longer.

Whatever you book, we’ll talk it through first. If a different detail fits your car better, we’ll say so, even when it’s the smaller one.

Thank you, Union.

Sunday was a cold one, and it was still a good morning. We were back at the Mayor’s Day 5K at Union High School, alongside the local businesses the chamber brings together, at a race that helps a family in town every year. That’s an easy reason to be set up before 7am.

We had the van, a table, and some good conversations with people who walked over to ask what we do. One of those turned into a real consultation right there at the table, and I’m grateful for every one of them.

Thank you to the Greater Union Chamber for having us back, and to everyone who came by to say hello.

This Sunday we’re back at the Mayor’s Day 5K in Union — our second year supporting a morning that brings the whole town to Union High School, with part of the proceeds helping a local family.

We’ll have the van and the booth out from 7am. If you’re running, walking, or cheering — come say hi, and bring your curiosity about your own paint; we’ll have the gloss meter with us.

The best day to protect your paint is the day you bring the car home.

This Bronco Sport was only days old when we ceramic coated it — before the sun, the highway, and the first New Jersey winter ever got a turn. New paint isn’t “fine on its own.” It’s just the easiest it will ever be to protect.

Thank you Paul and Michelle Marie for trusting us with it that early — and to Mike at Michael Delaney for working it with us. Good hands on both sides of the truck.

Union’s car show has been cancelled this year.

The organizers made the call yesterday, and after two weather postponements it’s the right one. We’ll be back when it is — and the booth, the live correction, and the giveaway come back with it.

Most people look at a show car from six feet. A detailer looks from six inches.

Three things we check that the crowd never sees: light raking across the panel, because that’s where swirls and holograms hide. A paint-thickness gauge, because it tells you whether a panel’s been corrected before — or repainted. And the edges, because careful work shows in the seams first.

We do the same three checks on every car before we touch it with a polisher. If you’ve ever wondered what your paint would show from six inches — that’s a question I’m happy to answer. I’m in Union, serving North/Central NJ.

Union’s car show has moved to Sunday, October 11.

Weather called it — the organizers pushed the Car, Truck & Bike Show to its rain date. Same place (Union Center, Morris & Stuyvesant Aves), same hours, 11am–6pm.

Nothing changes at our booth: a full vehicle corrected live, gloss meter readings before and after, and the $200 gift card toward any Lets Detail service — entered at the booth, 18+, no purchase necessary. The drawing moves with it, to October 14.

One more week of prep. We’ll take it. Come find the black van on the 11th.
