Hornets may build impressive nests... but they don't make good neighbors.
This hornet nest was safely treated and removed before it became a serious hazard. Hornets can become very defensive when their nest is disturbed, making DIY removal risky especially when nests are located near entryways, decks, or areas where children and pets spend time.

Spotted Lanternflies Are Here!!
We're beginning to see increasing numbers of Spotted Lanternfly nymphs throughout Bergen acounty. Right now, many are in their early black-and-white stage, while others have already developed into the red, black, and white stage shown in these photos.
What many people don't realize is that these colorful insects are still immature Spotted Lanternflies. As they continue to grow, they will eventually become the familiar winged adults seen later in the summer and fall.

Why are they a concern:
They feed on the sap of many plants and trees.
Heavy feeding can stress ornamental plants, fruit trees, and certain hardwoods.
They produce a sticky substance called honeydew that can attract other insects and lead to sooty mold growth.

What to expect next:
Black-and-white nymphs are common in late spring and early summer.
Red-stage nymphs appear as they mature.
Adults typically begin appearing in mid to late summer.

Keep an eye on trees, shrubs, fences, outdoor furniture, and other sunny surfaces where these insects often gather.

We truly appreciate everyone’s understanding, support, prayers, and kind messages during this difficult time for our family.

Today is an incredibly difficult day for our family. We are heartbroken to share that Mark’s mother passed away today.
