What type of cleaning chemical should you use on your floor?

We use pH neutral floor cleaner on most floor types. Concrete, tile, LVT, some LVP.

We use a hardwood specific chemical on hardwoods, and wood plank flooring.

Water and dish soap is also a common recommendation by flooring manufacturers.

When in doubt, check with your flooring manufacturer for guidance. It’s also important to note if your floor is sensitive to excess moisture and requires damp mopping over wet mopping.

Does your cleaners use a string mop, spin mop or damp mop?

Different mop systems aren’t for preference. They are for floor types.

Certain laminate, plank and composite floor types are not moisture resistant and string/wet mopping should not be done on these floors.

Leaving too much moisture from a mop will damage the finish to your floor.

Damp mopping allows for cleaning and sanitizing without leaving excess moisture behind.

The mop system shown in this photo is a damp mop. It gets dipped into the water, wrung out and used almost like a dust mop.

We recently completed a turnover deep clean for a property management company in Roanoke.

We use multi colored towels.

🩷 Pink for restrooms
💚 Green for kitchen/break areas
💛 Yellow for general surfaces
💙 Blue for glass
💜 Purple for specialty cleaning
