Smarter cleaning swaps

• Hydrogen peroxide ➜ instead of bleach
For mold & mildew
Bleach whitens stains but doesn’t kill mold spores on porous surfaces. Peroxide penetrates and kills mold at the source.

• Enzyme cleaner ➜ instead of bleach
For urine, pet accidents, and strong odors
Bleach disinfects but does not break down odor-causing proteins. Enzyme cleaners digest the organic matter so the smell doesn’t come back.
Tip: Enzymes need dwell time — spray, let sit, and air dry.

• pH-neutral cleaner ➜ instead of vinegar
For natural stone
Vinegar is acidic and can etch granite, marble, and quartzite. pH-neutral cleaners protect the seal.

• Microfiber or soft sponge ➜ instead of abrasive scrubbers
For acrylic tubs & fiberglass
Abrasives cause scratches and dulling over time.

• Degreaser ➜ instead of dish soap
For heavy kitchen grease
Dish soap is a mild degreaser and works for everyday messes. Heavy buildup needs a dedicated degreaser.

• Damp microfiber ➜ instead of dry dusting
For dust & allergens
Dry dusting spreads dust. Damp microfiber traps it.

• Surface-safe cleaner first ➜ instead of magic erasers on everything
Magic erasers are abrasive and can damage paint, glossy finishes, and sealed surfaces.
