On 02-16-26, the Sheriff's Department received a report that a 2024 CanAm side by side had been stolen from the area of Stewart Lane and Highway 63. On 02-23-26, the Sheriff's Department received a report that a Honda Pioneer side by side had been stolen from the area of Gavin Lane and Highway 63. On 02-24-26, the Sheriff's Department received a report that a utility trailer had been stolen from Ryburn Road, in the Woodlawn area. Investigators immediately initiated an investigation and late night patrols were established in an effort to develop and apprehend the suspects. On 02-26-26, three individuals were arrested. Both side by sides and the trailer were recovered at locations in Jefferson County. I would like to thank the Arkansas State Police and Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for their assistance. I would also like to thank our own officers who worked to bring these cases to this point. Everyone from the Sheriff down in our department pitched in an worked on the cases, whether it was investigative efforts or late night patrols. The late night patrols were conducted by officers who had already worked their normal shifts and despite little sleep, returned the next day for their normal shift. Thank you to Jakeb Croy, Michael Poss, Stewart Pickering, Bailey Strickler, Dakota Rodgers, Noah Gavin and Brad Young. Without the efforts of these officers these cases may still be unsolved. Identification of those arrested and any additional arrest will be made at a later time. Be aware that the investigation is continuing as we are looking for more stolen property. We will update you as information becomes available. If you see these officers give them a thank you please. They went above and beyond to bring this to a stop.

Today a resident reported an attempted scam. The resident received a message to update their computer and afterwards received a message indicating their computer had accessed a p**n site and they were being transferred to the federal trade commission. That person tried to get the resident to transfer their bank accounts to an account provided by the “trade commission “. This was absolutely a scam and luckily the resident did not provide any personal information. Please do not fall for a scam. Call the sheriff’s office if you have any concern that you may be about to be scammed. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Call the sheriff’s office at 870-325-6222.
