We put together a structural permit set for a cabin in a beautiful alpine basin near Silverton CO, high up in the San Juans. The new framing ties into the existing old timbers, including a big ridge beam, and the whole structure is designed for the heavy snow that comes with that kind of elevation. We recently completed three initial site visits from Placerville, up to Hotchkiss, and over to Gunnison. These site visits were to provide a site and soil evaluation to properly design new On-site Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) commonly referred to as septic systems.The soils and site conditions varied greatly, from rocky steep slopes to very tight and platy clay on top of a mesa. Whatever the soil conditions are at the site, we ensure our design takes into account the property's layout, the site's aesthetics, and follows state and county regulations to create a well-planned solution for every distinct project. This new house being constructed has a beautiful aspen tree covered lot overlooking the entire Wilson Mesa. The system needed to be large due to being constructed on a fat clay soil that is not very conducive to water transmition once it is saturated. The home owner did a great job on the installation. On to the next one!
