Dog parents, save these 3 tips for the next time your pup has an accident!
**1. Blot, don’t scrub.**
Use paper towels or a clean cloth to absorb as much urine as possible. Scrubbing can push the liquid deeper into carpet fibers and make stains harder to remove.
**2. Use an enzymatic pet cleaner.**
Regular household cleaners may not fully eliminate urine odors. Choose an enzymatic cleaner designed for pet accidents and follow the product instructions. Always check that it’s safe for your specific floor or surface.
**3. Don’t forget about lingering odors.**
Even when a spot looks clean, odor-causing residue may remain. Treat the area thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before letting your pup back onto it.
**Bonus tip:** If the accident happens on carpet, avoid using steam or high heat before treating the stain, as heat can make some stains and odors harder to remove.
Life with pets can get messy, and that’s okay! A few simple cleaning habits can help keep your home feeling fresh and comfortable.
