Hi everyone, I’m Curtis Mikesell, the new owner of Comic Relief Comics.

As Jake shared earlier, the shop will continue operating as normal, and my goal is to keep building on what Comic Relief has been while also finding ways to expand and bring even more to all the “True Comic Relievers.”

A little about me — I’m also the owner of We Clean LLC, and my very first office was actually right here in the Blast From The Past / Retro Rush Arcade LLC building… literally next door. My hobby background is mostly in Magic: The Gathering, and I read some comics when I was younger. But over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of catching up and diving back into the comic world.

I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Jake for the opportunity to carry Comic Relief forward, and to Josh for helping me learn the ropes of running a comic shop. And a thank you to the local readers for keeping comics alive in our community.

We’ll be here every Wednesday for New Comic Book Day, and our hours will remain Noon to 7PM, Wednesday through Sunday. Moving forward, the shop will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays instead of Sundays and Mondays.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and continuing the Comic Relief community.

Now that the snow has started to melt, here are three simple ways to protect your carpets from slush, mud, and salt getting tracked inside:

CREATE A SHOE DROP ZONE: Place a mat, tray, or boot rack near your entryway so wet shoes stop there instead of on your carpet.

DOUBLE UP ON DOORMATS: Use a mat outside and another just inside the door to catch moisture before it spreads through the house.

KEEP A TOWEL HANDY FOR QUICK WIPE-UPS: Drying wet spots right away helps prevent stains, salt residue, and lingering moisture from settling into carpet fibers.

A little prevention today means cleaner carpets tomorrow.
