tarted the company with nothing but a mower, his pickup truck, and an unparalleled passion for creating custom outdoor spaces. It was Joe’s dedication to serving each customer’s unique needs that allowed Ashton Pools by Design to quickly become the area’s preferred custom pool builder. Today, our state of the art design studio is located in Rehoboth Beach, and our artisans build stunning outdoor spaces throughout Kent and Sussex County. On any given day at the studio, you can find our Vice President Nicole reviewing gorgeous 3D renderings with clients, complete with color and animation to help customers’ visions come to life in a moving “reality.” Meanwhile, Joe and his team can be found building anything from luxury concrete pools and spas to pergolas, pool houses, outdoor kitchens, patios and more. When they’re not working, Joe and Nicole love to spend time with their pups Captain and Finnegan, go to the beach, and find ways to give back to our local community. Over the years, Ashton Pools by Design has been recognized for our craftsmanship with various accolades, but our crowning achievement thus far is our recently-awarded membership to the Master Pools Guild - an invite only, elite network of pool builders from across the world. We're proud to share that our "Connected Flow and Design" project has been named a 2026 Oasis Award winner by Luxury Pools + Outdoor Living magazine — one of only 50 projects nationwide recognized this year.

This one was designed around a single idea: draw you in. A linear pool creates a strong central axis, pulling your eye — and your feet — toward the water beyond. Stepped loungers, turf inlays, and a linear fire feature build rhythm across the space, while a raised wall and infinity edge anchor the far end with quiet drama.

Every element was placed with purpose. That's the Ashton difference.

We're going to tell you something most pool builders would rather you didn't think about.

When your pool is done — really done — the crew packs up and leaves. And what they leave behind is often a yard that looks nothing like what you imagined when you signed the contract.

Torn-up lawn from heavy equipment. Uneven soil from excavation and backfill. Construction debris that just sort of… lingers.
This is completely normal in the industry. It doesn't have to be normal for you.

We created our Yard Restoration Guarantee because we kept hearing the same story from homeowners who had been through builds with other companies. Beautiful pool. Disaster of a yard. And a contractor who said that kind of thing wasn't their responsibility.

At Ashton, it is absolutely our responsibility.

Every project we take on includes proper grading, sod replacement, and a full cleanup of the construction zone — in writing, before we start. We don't consider our work done until the whole space looks finished.

We think about them completely differently.
