DOES CAJUN SPARKLE DISINFECT?

As a cleaner — yes, hydrogen peroxide is a solid disinfecting tool when used correctly.

Most cleaners use it for:

* Bathrooms
* Toilets
* Trash cans
* Mold/mildew staining
* Pet accidents
* High-touch surfaces
* Whitening grout or dingy surfaces

A few pro-cleaner tips:

* 3% peroxide is the common ready-to-use strength for household disinfecting.
* It needs dwell time to properly disinfect. Spraying and immediately wiping doesn’t do much. Most products need around 5–10 minutes wet contact time depending on the germ claim.
* It works best after you remove dirt and grease first. You can’t disinfect through grime.
* It’s great for odor removal because it oxidizes organic matter.

Things to watch out for:

* It can bleach fabrics, carpet, wood, and some natural stone.
* Don’t mix it with vinegar in the same container.
* Never mix it with bleach.
* Store it away from sunlight because light breaks it down.

One thing a lot of people confuse:

* Sanitize = lowers germs
* Disinfect = kills listed germs to a specific standard

Hydrogen peroxide can absolutely disinfect — but only if the label specifically says it’s a disinfectant and you follow the dwell time.
