I was told that Dustin Becks-owner of O’Donnells Termite & Pest Control-went into one of my former accounts and told them that I have retired (which is true), and that he/O’Donnells is taking over all of my accounts. This is a complete and total lie. His company is the absolute last company I would recommend to anyone. I have several examples if you’d like to hear them. Please be cautious and do your homework when choosing a pest control company.

Well, if you haven’t heard, as of 5pm today, we are closing our doors for the last time. After 25 years of business, I am officially retiring. We have had a great time over the years, building partnerships, friendships, and a lot of trust with our local community. We had had some rough times, but so many more great times. I have had so much satisfaction being able to solve our customers problems, many of which other companies couldn’t. We have gained the trust, support and friendship of so many people. When learning of our closure, I have had nothing but well wishes, and a lot of disappointment from our customers. “Who are we going to trust in our homes/businesses?” “Who do you recommend?” Unfortunately, I cannot recommend any particular company. Some companies just aren’t good at pest control, but won’t hesitate to take your money. Others don’t hold the values and morals that I feel are needed to do the things that we have done, and the way we have done them.

So to close this post, THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart. You all have taught me so much. You’ve made the past 25 years so worth it. We hope you all have a great 2026.

For those who follow our page, here’s a little info-FYI—-Illinois Governor Pritzger has propose more taxes on service providing companies. His new tax rate is up to 6.5%. This increase, along with chemical price increases, will most likely result in a price increase for services which we provide. At Advantage, we try to keep our prices as low as we possibly can. Some of our customer comments have been-“are you sure that’s all?” “Are you sure, you haven’t raised your prices for many years !” We want to make a profit-that’s why we’re in business. We are not in business to r**e our customers to make that profit. We want to do a great job for our customers, and then be done until we are needed the next time. So, without going into my soapbox, please understand when you see a price increase on your next invoice. Thank you.

Hey, just a little reminder to everyone-bedbugs are everywhere; book bags, used furniture, clothing, suitcases, hotel rooms, etc. Everyone should be vigilant. Bedbugs do not discriminate-young/old, wealthy/not so wealthy , good housekeeping/not so good housekeeping-it doesn’t matter. Bedbugs are hitchhikers. They will ride on your clothes, bags, etc. from the bus, the plane, the doctors office, anywhere! Termites are still active this time of year even though the temperatures are colder. This is a worker termite on the back side of a mud tube that he and his colony has built on the footing of a garage so they can travel from the soil to the house. We found this little guy today while doing a treatment on the north side of Quincy.

Here are some pics of an apartment where one of my competitors had just “treated” for roaches about a month ago. Very frustrating to see how some companies completely lie to their customers, do the bare minimum, and get as much money from them as possible. We helped this family out and gave them some piece of mind. These pics are of the internet router, the inside of a cabinet, behind the fridge, and under a counter top.

A busy day with bed bugs today! Found them throughout this apartment-in shoes, the edge of the mattress,a window frame, and the legs of the kitchen table.
