Christmas for Seniors
For the last several years, I have traveled some distance with our pest control company. I love making people smile and extending a helping hand to the “Senior Communities” when needed. Sometimes, it is just a simple card, or maybe a small anonymous donation to help. For several years prior to working in the pest control industry, I worked in the medical field with “Seniors”, which rapidly became personally rewarding.
After starting in the pest control business, the heart carried those feelings over. I have experienced immense satisfaction in helping seniors maintain a healthy quality environment in their homes, through our pest control services. Unmistakenly, I feel that we make a huge impact on older people’s lives in a unique way. It is both extremely rewarding and equally challenging for us to make a difference in the lives of others, working with the elderly.
We want to help seniors feel included and valued during the holiday season by giving to them. By planning thoughtful and enjoyable gifts, we create a memorable Christmas experience for them. It isn’t “how much or how big” a gift is, it is “the thought that counts”. We see so many in “Senior Properties” that are in need. Therefore, several years ago I started purchasing small gifts all year long and placing them in a box, along with gift bags, on my own.
This year, I decided to share the blessings with others and start “Christmas for Seniors”. It is a donation program for seniors that aims to provide essential gifts during the holiday season. When selecting Christmas gifts for seniors, consider items that are practical, comforting, and safe. Here are some thoughtful personal care items that can bring joy and comfort during the holiday season:
• small trinket
• small photo album
• set of greeting cards and stamps
• cozy fleece blanket
• warm socks
• toiletries / hygiene items for male or female
The radiant smiles and rings of laughter that echo brings it all together when I deliver these gifts each year. It’s all about spending time together, feeling included, because some of these residents don’t get to see their families on a regular basis. Some are alienated from their families for one reason or another. Some residents do not have any family at all.
If you would like to donate any of these items or drop off a monetary amount to our office at 1005 Hwy 59 Queen City, Texas 75572, please do so by December 1st. Let us be your hands and feet. Be a blessing to someone through Patterson Pest Patrol, LLC.
Sincerely,
