Hey everyone! Just wanted to warn people of scams in these facebook groups. I run a duct cleaning business and have heard many scam stories from my customers. I thought I would warn you guys of the common signs a company or facebook user is a scammer.
1. They don’t mention their business name in the post
2. They offer extremely low pricing (they will upsell you when they are done and demand more money than you agreed to)
3. They say to “message them in a private message (PM)” and refuse to answer questions people leave publicly on their post
4. They have a new account, probably a profile picture of a generic family or couple
5. They use common scam terminology such as “Need to fill up the truck”, “Kindly message me” or “believe my work, not my words”
6. They require a deposit or money before starting work
7. Generic company names such as “duct cleaners” that’s not linked to a google business profile
8. Nothing pops up when you google their phone number
While not all of these immediately indicate a scam, make sure that you do your research and hire somebody you can trust.
