On Christmas Day approximately 415pm, as my family and I prepared to eat Christmas dinner our home caught on fire. If it wasn't for the heroic banging of our neighbor at our door, we would not have noticed in time. I was showering when the house caught fire, I thank my younger brother for alerting me. We rushed to carry my grandmother out the house and to God's blessing, we all made it out alive including all 4 pets.
I'm beyond grateful to our neighbors for giving us clothes, water, shoes and shelter. I thank the fire department for their swift response and being able to help us find all missing pets. I want everyone to understand that you never know when life could potentially be cut short. I ask you all to be kind and love those around you and do not take things for granted for you may have your last day on earth any day. Though our Christmas started out wonderful and ended in the destruction of our home, I pray that we can recover from this traumatic experience. Please send prayers and consider donating to my family to help repair the home and to help them get the necessities they need for while being displaced. My mother worked extremely hard to purchase this home 5 years ago to provide for my siblings and my disabled grandmother. I love you all. Remember, life can be short, so stay blessed.
