Road restrictions have been in place for a little while already, which means we have to be careful with our pumping trucks and other large equipment. We are allowed only on certain roads, mostly highways and county roads, or if you have an emergency. Once road restrictions are lifted, we will start scheduling regular maintenance pumpings, however we don't know when that will be, its up to the state to decide that. We will still have to keep mother nature in mind as well as it is spring time. We will try to do another post once restrictions are off!

Mark’s Sewer Service Inc. is looking to hire a Class A or Class B licensed driver/Service Technician.

We are located in Princeton, MN and are a family-owned business. We are looking to hire an energetic and motivated person to add to our team. Our business is focused on servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing septic systems in our community.
We are looking to hire for a full-time position.

Duties may include, but not limited to:
· Assist with septic installs.
· Perform septic system maintenance, including pumping and repairs.
· Lift 100 pounds.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently.
· Mechanically inclined.
· Manual labor, working outdoors and sometimes in adverse conditions.

We will train the right candidate!
Pay is based on qualifications.
Starting pay range $25.00 - $37.00
Benefits available!

- Retirement plan (IRA) with company match.

Necessary Requirements:
o Valid Class A or B Driver’s License with No-restrictions (must be able to drive manual and automatic)

We all know Minnesota's Winters are unpredictable, and the warm weather was nice, but there is more cold on the way. Unfortunately the warm weather melted a lot of the snow that was helping insulate most septic systems, meaning there will be an increased chance of septic systems freezing.

If you suspect your system is frozen, DO NOT put antifreeze or salt into your sytem. Give us a call and see if we can help you out with our Jetter.

Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter, and we are getting calls about possible frozen septic systems with the cold temps but we are also getting calls about sewer smells in the home.

If your septic system still seems to be working but maybe the toilet is gurgling a little, or you have been noticing a septic smell in the home, one of the biggest culprits is the end of the bathroom vent pipe (at the roof) is plugged with ice, snow or even critters made a nest to escape the cold.

This may also affect your drains that trap water causing them to dry out also allowing sewer gas into your home. If you have a septic smell in your house, this is a great thing to check first, just be careful if you go up on your roof to check!

With the cold spell almost over it is a good idea not to let your guard down. Lots of frozen pipes happen on nice days. It seams to be a delay of several days between when the cold weather and when buried pipes freeze. We notice that pipes with little use have a much more likelihood of freezing than ones that are used more.
