Spring pest season always seems to start with one “first visitor.”

For some homes, it’s ants. For others, it’s spiders, earwigs, wasps, or box elder bugs finding their way back around doors, windows, garages, and patios.

So we want to know:

What pest shows up first at your house every spring?

There’s been a lot of talk about hantavirus lately, and while it is rare, it is a good reminder of why rodent prevention matters.

Rodents can carry health risks through droppings, urine, saliva, and nesting materials.

The CDC recommends rodent control and keeping wild rodents out of homes as a key prevention step.

DeBugger’s rodent boxes are serviced three times per year to help monitor activity, keep bait fresh, and prevent rodents from invading your home, garage, shed, or outbuildings.

If you’re seeing signs of rodent activity, now is the time to get ahead of it.

Spring pest activity is picking up, and we recently began our spring pest treatments.

As warmer days become more common, pests begin moving, nesting, and looking for places to settle in. Ants, spiders, earwigs, box elder bugs, and other early-season pests can become a bigger problem if they are left untreated.

Spring pest control is all about prevention. If you are starting to notice more bugs around your home, now is a good time to schedule.

Call DeBugger Pest Control at (435) 630-0653.

If your lawn is struggling to green up evenly this spring, the issue may not be what you are putting on it, but what is happening underneath.

Over time, soil naturally becomes compacted. When that happens, water, air, and nutrients have a harder time reaching the root system where they are needed most. After such a dry winter and dry start to spring, that can make it even harder for your lawn to use the moisture it does get.

Aeration helps open things back up by allowing your lawn to breathe again. It creates space in the soil so water can soak in more effectively, nutrients can move more freely, and roots can grow deeper and stronger, helping your lawn stay healthier and more resilient as temperatures warm up.

If your lawn is looking thin or uneven, this is a great time to get ahead of it. Reach out to get on the schedule and give your lawn the boost it needs this season.

Spring pests do not wait for consistently warm weather. Even with temperatures still bouncing around, we are already seeing pest activity pick up across the area.

Ants, spiders, earwigs, and box elder bugs are often some of the first to show up, and once they do, they rarely slow down on their own.

Early pest control helps stop a minor issue from turning into a bigger one later. If pests are already starting to become a problem, give us a call.

We finally got some rain! But when it comes to your lawn, one good storm doesn’t replace a solid watering plan.

Especially this year.

We didn’t get much of a winter, and drought conditions are very likely heading into summer. That means what you do now matters.

The goal isn’t more water. It’s better watering.

Deep, consistent watering helps your grass build stronger root systems so it can handle heat, dry spells, and stress much more effectively.

Here’s a simple guideline to follow as temperatures start to climb:

• 70–80° → water 1x per week
• 80–90° → water 2x per week
• 90°+ → water 3x per week

And always aim for about 1 inch of water total per week.

Rain can absolutely help supplement this, but it usually doesn’t replace it entirely, especially in southeastern Utah.

A lawn that’s watered properly now is a lawn that holds up when the heat hits.
