Carpenter Ants can cause severe damage to a structure. In the Palouse Region and Northern Idaho carpenter ants cost homeowners thousands a year in repair costs. Most people don't know there are carpenter ants in their home or that they even do cause significant damage.... Watch for wing ants as the weather gets warmer. You will see winged carpenter ants in "Swarms." As they emerge from there winter home these winged females are looking for a new home to create a colony.
