I remember when I first started my business 10 years ago after leaving CSX Transportation. I was sitting at home one day with nothing to do, talking on the phone with my dad. I was stressed out and worried about being able to pay the bills and take care of me and my kids.
I’ll never forget what Dad said when I told him I wasn’t sure what I was gonna do and that I may have made a mistake starting my own business.
Dad said, “Don’t worry about it. If you go out and do good work (like he taught me to) and do what you tell people you’ll do, you’ll be fine.”
He told me not to stress about not having work because the Lord would provide.
Looking back now, I can honestly say I’ve done exactly what Dad told me to do. I’ve gone out every day and done the best work I possibly can on every job, and I’ve done exactly what I told my customers I was going to do and more.
And Dad was right. The Lord has always provided.
Nowadays, it seems like every week when I finish up my houses for the week, I find myself right back in that same spot wondering, “Was that the last job of the season? Is it finally going to slow down?”
But every week, the same thing happens. I may not have anything to do on Monday, but by Tuesday I’m booked up with 3 or 4 houses for the rest of the week.
I remember telling my oldest son, Russell, one day when he was only 14 years old and questioning him self if I had made the right decision leaving such a good job, “We’ll be fine. If I can just wash one house a day, we’ll be fine son”.
Well, here I am 10 years later, and thanks to some absolutely amazing customers and more support than I could have ever imagined, I’m out here washing 3 to 4 houses a day and absolutely killing it with 3D Blasting.
I don’t take any of it for granted.
Every phone call, every referral, every repeat customer, every new customer who trusts me with their home — it all means more than you probably realize.
Dad told me to do good work, do what I say I’m going to do, and trust that the Lord would provide.
10 years later, I’m still doing exactly that.
And He’s still providing. 🙏
I’m just incredibly thankful that I get to make a living doing something I love, surrounded by amazing customers who continue to support me and my family.
Thanks to all those who continue to sho support and especially those who continue to “Tell Your Friends About Us”
