Proper communication when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing client spaces is one of the most important parts of the job, and that includes correct signage.

Those wet floor signs you see all the time in businesses and offices aren’t just a courtesy, they’re there because slippery surfaces are legally considered a “foreseeable hazard,” something individuals need to be made aware of and protected from.

By the letter of the law, a wet tile floor is an equivalent level of hazard as exposed wiring hanging from a ceiling.

The odd part of this is that while caution signs are necessary, there’s no specific formula to how many need to be used, how big they should be, or anything else when it comes to floors. Regardless, we prefer to take the approach of “better safe than sorry” and make sure everyone has plenty of heads up to be careful in hazardous areas.
