Hey friends and neighbors!

It seems like most of us end up with way more hangers than we’ll ever need — those extras that just pile up in the closet, taking up space for no reason.

You know the ones, right?

We're collecting unwanted hangers so we can clean them up and reuse them (instead of buying new ones). It’s a simple way to keep stuff out of the landfill and save a little money at the same time.

If you’ve got a bunch you’d be happy to get rid of, would you be open to dropping them off? No pressure at all — whenever it’s convenient for you. How does that sound?

Even a small stash makes a difference. Thanks in advance — you’re helping keep good stuff in circulation!

Happy 4th of July from Mom’s Laundromat!

Hey everyone, it seems like this weekend has the whole town buzzing with excitement for fireworks, beach time, and some much-needed relaxation. We totally get it — you’ve earned the chance to kick back and celebrate. Because of that, Mom’s Laundromat will be closed this Saturday, July 4th, so our team can enjoy the holiday right alongside you. We'll be back to our normal hours on Sunday, July 5th.

A quick heads-up on dry cleaning: Our dry cleaner is taking Friday off and doesn’t work weekends, so any dry cleaning dropped off this week will be ready on Tuesday, July 7th rather than on Monday, July 6. We appreciate your patience — we know it’s a little inconvenient, but we wanted to be upfront so you can plan accordingly. We’ll be open our regular hours (8 AM to 8 PM) on Friday, July 3rd if you need to get laundry or drop off dry cleaning before the holiday break.

Drop off early, give us a call, or shoot us a message if you’ve got questions. We’re here to help however we can. Wishing you a safe, fun, and fantastic Independence Day filled with good food, great company, and maybe a little fireworks magic.

Thank you for letting us be part of your community — we can’t wait to see you next week!

Your friends at Mom’s Laundromat
Port Townsend, WA

Feel free to share with anyone who might need to do laundry or dry cleaning this week!

Would it be crazy to say that holidays feel better when you’re not stressing about unfinished errands?

We get it — Juneteenth is a day for reflection, community, and positive energy… not worrying about that package, that load of laundry, or that thing you meant to do yesterday.

So yes, Mom's Laundromat (2334 Washington St., PT) will be OPEN tomorrow (8 AM to 8 PM) for Juneteenth, ready to help you knock out whatever you need, quickly and painlessly.

Wishing you a meaningful, uplifting holiday.
What’s one small win we can help you get tomorrow?

Hey Port Townsend friends and loyal customers! ❤️
We’re truly sorry for the unexpected closure of Mom’s Laundromat these past couple of days. We know how disruptive that can be to your routine, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked through some unexpected challenges.

We’ve also started some flooring demolition in preparation for beautiful new floors coming soon. The space might look a little messy during the upgrade, but we’re fully operational and ready for you. Regular Hours: (Sunday – Saturday, 8 AM – 8 PM)

Thank you for sticking with Mom’s — we can’t wait to see you today. Your support means everything to us!

Hey Port Townsend friends,
We know how it goes. Memorial Day weekend rolls around, you’ve got family coming into town, the kids are home, and suddenly that mountain of laundry feels like it’s staring you down. It can feel stressful when you need things handled and a lot of places shut down.

That’s exactly why Mom’s Laundromat will be open this Monday, Memorial Day — regular hours, full service, clean machines ready to go. We’ve been right here taking care of Port Townsend families for years, and we’re not about to leave you hanging on a holiday.

Whether you’re washing beach towels, bedding for guests, or just catching up after a busy weekend — we’re here for it.

Come by, throw in a load, grab some Indian food from next door, and let us help make the day a little easier. Open Monday, May 25th – Regular Hours.

See you at Mom’s.

“Your Laundry Home Base (Unless It’s a Big Holiday)”

Laundry has a sixth sense — it knows exactly when to multiply.

That’s why Mom’s Laundromat is open 8 AM to 8 PM, every day, ready for your emergencies, your “oops,” and your “how did this stain get here?”

Well… every day except major holidays like the 4th of July and Christmas, when we’re:

-Trying to keep the dog from eating fireworks

-Watching Hallmark movies we pretend to hate

-Attempting to wrap gifts with the precision of a toddler wearing oven mitts

The rest of the year, we’re your dependable, lint‑friendly neighborhood spot.

What’s the laundry situation you’re trying to talk your way out of today?

Posting an update on my previous post about package shipping restrictions in the Middle East. This time it's about military mail:

Hey neighbors, I have an update on my last post about the Middle East shipping suspensions: The US Postal Service (USPS) has suspended ALL mailing services (letters, packages, everything) to several APO/FPO/DPO military ZIP codes in the region. This kicked in due to the same logistics challenges from the ongoing conflict that's affecting regular international mail.
This is a separate but related pause – it hits military post offices directly, even though country-level suspensions sometimes spare diplomatic/military channels. Here's a list of many of the affected ZIP codes (not exhaustive – things can change, so double-check the official USPS alerts):
• 09303 (e.g., Manama BAO, Bahrain area), 09305 (e.g., BDSC MPO), 09306 (e.g., Camp Arifjan), 09307 (e.g., Muharraq MCA), 09309 (e.g., Al Udeid AB, Qatar), 09315 (e.g., Joint Training Center), 09316 (e.g., Erbil AB), 09330, 09343, 09357, 09365, 09366, 09801, 09803, 09807, 09811, 09815, 09819, 09829, 09832, 09835, 09853, 09855, 09858, 09877, 09898, 09903, 09904
(These tie to key bases in Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Iraq, and similar spots.)
FedEx, UPS, and DHL are still showing delays or limits in the area, but nothing new blanket-style for military addresses beyond this.
I get it – if you're prepping a care package for someone serving or just trying to send a letter to let them know you're thinking of them, this news can feel heavy. No one wants to add uncertainty on top of everything else.
What's weighing on your mind right now? Got a loved one's address you're worried about? Planning to send something soon? Or just need reassurance? Drop a comment, shoot us a message, call/text us at 360-434-7421 or pop in – we’re genuinely here to listen and help figure out the next best step. No pressure, just real support.
Bremerton, we've got this together. Stay strong and keep reaching out.

I own the Pak Mail store in Bremerton, so this post is a little outside the normal Mom's posts. I wanted to get this info out, though, so people aren't caught unaware concerning mail and package shipments going to the Middle East:

Hey neighbors, it seems like the ongoing situation in the Middle East is throwing a wrench into everyone's shipping plans – and I know how frustrating that can be when you're trying to connect with loved ones or handle business overseas.

We've seen official notices from the US Post Office (USPS) temporarily suspending mail services to several countries in the region, including Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and others.

FedEx has resumed operations but is warning of extended delays across the Middle East.

UPS and DHL are also reporting potential disruptions and longer transit times, though no full suspensions for all services.

At Pak Mail in Bremerton, we get it – these changes can feel overwhelming. That's why we're here as your local shipping experts to help you explore alternatives, check specific destinations, or even hold off on shipments until things stabilize.

What shipping needs do you have right now? Drop a comment below, call or text us at 360-434-7421, or stop by the store – let's figure this out together and make sure your packages get where they need to go safely.

Stay informed and stay connected!

Ever have one of those days where the universe just says ‘nope’?
That was us just now at Mom’s laundromat.

We had sewage back up into the building, and there was no safe way to stay open. Closing early wasn’t what we wanted, but it was the only responsible choice.

We’re not sure yet if we’ll be able to open tomorrow.
We’re waiting on cleanup and confirmation that everything is safe for customers.

If you’re planning to come in, please give us a quick call first (360-385-5508) so you don’t waste a trip.
We really appreciate everyone’s patience — days like this remind us how much your support matters.

Doesn’t it always seem like these things happen at the worst possible time?

Hey neighbors!

It seems like a lot of us have been waiting for new restaurant next door to open... and wow, it looks like the wait is almost over! I had the chance to chat with the owners of the new Indian restaurant (Royal Masala) opening right beside Mom's Laundromat. They’re putting the final touches in place (from what I could tell by peeking in), and earlier today I spotted the Coke truck out front. It really feels like things are coming together fast. From what they told me, they're aiming to open on March 1st — less than a week away! Authentic Indian flavors right here in the neighborhood... it sounds like it's going to be something special for all of us.

Anyone else as excited as I am about having this spot come to life? What dishes are you hoping to see on the menu? Drop a comment — let's get the good energy going! Can't wait to welcome them properly. See you soon at Royal Masala Indian Cuisine!
