It's a fair question. The weather can feel great for being outside, but that doesn't always mean the pool water feels comfortable, especially when mornings and evenings start getting cooler. 🥶

The better question is how you actually want to use your pool.
Are you skipping swims because the water feels too cool?
Would you enjoy getting in earlier or later in the day instead of waiting for the water to warm up naturally?

If the water temperature is starting to limit how often you use your pool, heating might be worth considering. 🌡️

If flooding is affecting your property, do not put yourself in danger trying to protect the pool equipment.

🏠⚡ If your pool breakers are inside the house and safely accessible from a completely dry location, turn off power to the pool equipment.

🚫🌊 If reaching them requires going outside, entering water, or touching a wet electrical panel, leave them alone.

⚠️ Do not approach flooded equipment during the storm.

Once conditions are safe, JD Pools can assess equipment that may have been affected by flooding.

Pool equipment stops working, and your first thought is probably, "How much is a new one going to cost?" 💸

But here's something worth remembering:
a problem doesn't automatically mean you need a replacement.

🔍 What actually failed? What condition is the rest of the equipment in?
Are repairs possible, and do they make sense for the long term?

These are the kinds of things worth understanding before making a decision.

On one JD Pools service call, five pool lights weren't working. Our team found that power had been disconnected. After reconnecting and testing the lines, the lights still weren't working. We also found damaged junction boxes that needed attention.

Those findings helped us recommend the appropriate next steps instead of relying on the visible problem alone.

Sometimes repair makes sense. Other times, replacement is the better option.
The point is to understand WHY before deciding.

Your pool isn't trying to set the mood. If that light suddenly starts flickering, dimming, or cutting out, something has changed. 💡

And while it's easy to notice the difference, figuring out what's causing it is another story.

🔍 On one customer service call, JD Pools checked the power supply before confirming that the pool light itself had failed. The technician identified the issue, replaced the failed light with a new LED light, and tested it to make sure it was working properly.

The takeaway? What your pool light is doing gives us a clue, but it doesn't always tell us what's wrong.
