Hey Y’all!
Here is something I have come across a lot and I think this is something people and business (doctors offices ect.) tend not to think about or they may not even realize this is going on.
Have you ever seen black slime in your bathroom and kitchen faucets (more frequent in the south)? Maybe, even pink, black or white residue on your shower heads??
If so, these residues are molds-some may not be as harmful as others but, they are still molds!!
Personally-I recommend you clean all faucets at L E A S T once a week!
WHAT TO USE AND HOW:
My go to cleaner is Clorox Bleach Clean-Up Spray. To get rid of the mold- Spray the faucet head and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes (you may actually see the residue falling as it is disinfecting) then use a cleaning brush or toothbrush to scrub the faucet to get all the little remaining particles in the head, repeat if necessary depending on circumstance.
Natural Cleaner- Grab a baggie and fill it half way with white distilled vinegar, then take the baggie and put the faucet head or shower head in the solution and use a rubber band or hair tie to tie around the faucet tightly! Let it sit for 20-30 minutes then use a cleaning brush or toothbrush to scrub the remaining particles. Again, repeat if necessary!
PS- Not cleaning a shower head properly can cause serious health issues!
If a shower head is filled with black or pink residue- you should take the whole shower head off then take it apart and clean the inside out. If it’s too big of a job you’ll need to replace the shower head in all!
