You can only take a factory cylinder head so far. So we started over.

The KDD ICON is a clean-sheet aluminum performance casting, designed from day one for the 6.0/6.4 Powerstroke—not a copy of a factory head.

Let’s talk piston rings.

We sat down with our good buddy Lake Speed Jr., a.k.a. The Motor Oil Geek, at the Total Seal booth at PRI to take a deep dive into Total Seal’s drop-in gapless rings—the science, coatings, testing, development, and most importantly, the real-world results.

We’ve seen crankcase pressure drop from 8–10+ PSI to less than 1 PSI, and with our KDD dry sump systems, we can even pull the crankcase into vacuum.

Less blow-by means more cylinder pressure stays where it belongs, less soot and contamination ends up in the oil, and your crankcase ventilation system has a whole lot less work to do.

If you’re rebuilding an engine and you’ve ever wondered whether gapless rings are actually worth it, this is one you’ll want to watch.
