I’ve found that adding the right flowers to the garden can help a lot with pest pressure, and they make the space look better at the same time too 🌸
🧡 Marigolds are one I plant every year around vegetables because they’re easy and dependable
💗 Petunias can be useful near beds where chewing pests tend to show up
💜 Lavender is one I like near seating areas and paths because the scent is a bonus for people too
🌼 Nasturtiums are great because they can act like a trap crop and pull attention away from vegetables
❤️ Geraniums add color and can be helpful in pots, porches, and garden edges
🪻 Alliums are worth mixing in if you want something pretty that also earns its space
🌿 Tansy can be useful, but I’d plant it carefully since it spreads in some gardens
🌺 Chrysanthemums are pretty, but I think of flowers like these as part of the plan, not a total fix
I always tell people this helps reduce pest problems, not magically stop them. Healthy plants, good spacing, and checking leaves often still matter the most.
